About Me

I am a child of God, saved by the grace of a loving, living Father in heaven. I had been married for 19 years and now divorced 8 years. A mother of 6 children, ranging in ages from 18-25. I have a daughter, Allison, age 25 which was married 07/07/07, to my son in law, Zach. She presently lives in Indianapolis. Ashley, age 23 is an art major with some super talents and gifts from God. Timothy, age 21, pursues an education in sports management. Next are the twins, Alexandra and Amanda, ages 20, Alex has always wanted to be a cosmetologist and almost finished with her schooling. Amanda, also an art major, is interested in the field of interior design. Amanda and Allison have recently voiced their plans to become nurses. Taylor, age 18, my last baby to graduate from high school, enjoys helping people, would like to pursue a career in social work and eventually educate himself in becoming a psychologist, working with troubled teens, as he himself has had many struggles along the path of life. As I get older and learned from many mistakes, I believe my most important job, is being a mom, a blessing from God. I am a nurse by occupation. I work in labor and delivery for the past 17 years, what a miracle it is to witness the birth of lives. I enjoy Bible studies and have taken all the Beth Moore studies. I love to laugh and am a fun person to be with, a sanguine personality. My biggest asset is helping and serving people. I have two dogs: a miniature schnauzer, Toby and a miniature pincher, Kobe Bryant (which I inherited from my son Tim, while he is in college). They have become my buddies and I love to take them for walks. I am a wedding coordinator at my church and serve in hospitality, it seems to be my passion for using the gifts God blessed me with. I consider myself a survivor and a work in progress. Survived a difficult, damaging marriage, cancer and watching my children make mistakes as they grow. I have been set free and worked through many trials, the struggles and the messes of my own doings, and continue to allow God to work in me until the day of redemption. God cares and loves me a bunch. He is my Rock, my Refuge, my Rebuilder, my Refiner and my Restorer and I love Him so.

Interests

Bible studies, watching TV land and old movies, cooking, walking and some gardening when I have time, hanging out with my children.

Favorite Movies

Gone With the Wind (my all time favorite), Sound of Music, and Passion of the Christ (I have seen it 5 times).

Favorite Music

Oldies music, some country, southern gospel, and a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary.

Favorite Books

Just Give Me Jesus- Anne Graham-Lotz, Beth Moore Bible Studies, Get Out of That Pit-Beth Moore

Hi Alexia,

I tried your Pineapple Cheese Ball from the Siesta Fiesta cookbook this weekend and loved it!!! I got lazy though and didn't shape it into a ball. I just put it into a pretty bowl and served it out of that. It is so yummy.

Thanks for including it!!
